Japan finally has had their wait for the McRib return come to an end! It is being temporarily offered as part of a contest where one of three reoccurring limited time sandwiches will become a regular menu item. They note it has been 7 years since they last had the McRib there, and is currently only the 8th time since 2001, see more about that release here.
The contest requires participants to either scan a QR code on the sandwich to vote, or to send out a tweet indicating they want their sandwich to win. The three sandwiches in the contest are the McRib, Teriyaki Chicken Filet, and a breakfast sandwich Tamago Double Mack. As of this post, the McRib is trailing the other two options.Reasons for why the McRib is behind? Well one fan explains that while the McRib tastes good, they do not like the non-circular bun.
