McRib Confirmed Sightings Review 11/14/2012

With the flurry of reports coming in, we thought we would share an image of the latest confirmed sightings so that you can more easily see if there is one near you. Confirmed McRibs availability appears to be focused in Texas, Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska. Considering just a week ago the McRib was only in Texas (as well as San Salvador internationally), it is interesting to see how it’s availability is now distributed.

Keep in mind you can restrict your map to see only confirmed sightings by selecting “Only Confirmed Sightings” and clicking submit in the search dialog to the lower right of the McRibLocator.com map. You do not need to put in a range of dates to search to utilize this feature.

If/when you find a McRib, please mark your sighting at McRibLocator.com and be sure to send us a photo (photos@mcriblocator.com) of your receipt showing the purchase so that we may mark it as confirmed.

Mcrib está de vuelta

While many McRib fans in the United States are still awaiting the return of the McRib, we have confirmed that it is back in El Salvador thanks to a tip from one of our fans (Andy). Upon loading the El Salvador McDonalds twitter page the image on the left is of the McRib. In reviewing their posts it appears that the McRib returned there around October 26th.

When viewing their website, we see the McRib is also in the mix of featured items as well.

It certainly is exciting to see that the McRib’s return is not limited to only the United States. We of course welcome sightings from around the world, so any and all sightings are welcome.

If/when you find a McRib, please mark your sighting at McRibLocator.com and be sure to send us a photo (photos@mcriblocator.com) of your receipt showing the purchase so that we may mark it as confirmed.

Mayor McCheese Slips McRib Release Information

While they are having one heck of a party down in Texas, much of the rest of the country is left looking in from the outside and wondering when they too will be able to feast on a McRib in their neighborhood.

Don’t worry our fellow McRib Maniacs, we received information today that the McRib is still coming back in mid-December. Additionally we heard directly from McD’s HQ that there will be some lucky towns that will get it yet this month. With conformations in CA, KS, MO, and TX we can see this information already coming to fruition.

There are a lot of people that hunger for the McRib (including us). One way you can help is if/when you find a McRib, please mark your sighting at McRibLocator.com and be sure to send us a photo (photos@mcriblocator.com) of your receipt showing the purchase so that we may mark it as confirmed. The stomachs of McRib fans everywhere will thank you.

McRib Revolution Continues in Texas, McRib event planned.

As reported yesterday, we know the McRib has returned in parts of Texas. Today we received additional photo proof (via receipt photos and McRib photos) that the McRib is cropping up at several other locations there as well. We have had numerous other reports of the McRib at other locations, however without the photo confirmation we leave those to the fans in the areas to help us validate the sightings.

Here are few of the photos we received today:

Austin, TX McRib

Houston, TX McRib

Additionally today we received word of a McRib Madness Party coming up in the Houston area. In what is billing as the #PilgRIBage, there will be a “Texas sized” McRib Madness Party for McRib fans at 7606 Westheimer in Houston, TX (77057) on November 14th from 9pm until the boneless pigs fly home (or until around midnight, whichever comes first). Not only will you be able to feast upon the McRib, but there will be McRib giveaways, McRib Swag, a mobile gaming truck and other games, prices, music, and even a live local DJ on site.

For those unable to attend, we plan to have some pilRIBage photos to share following the event. If you go, feel free to send us photos as well as we suspect there will be a lot of fans at home drooling over the excitement in Houston. Follow along via Twitter @MCD_Houston.

If/when you find a McRib, please mark your sighting at McRibLocator.com and be sure to send us a photo (photos@mcriblocator.com) of your receipt showing the purchase so that we may mark it as confirmed.

1st McRib of 2012 Season

As we earlier reported, the first confirmed McRib sighting was in El Paso, TX and was sighted by Erica A. Erica actually had her first McRib yesterday, following a lunch time desire for french fries. An additional interesting tidbit is that the McDonalds nearest Erica was closed for remodeling, thus she ended up at this location. Erica didn’t capture a photo of her receipt yesterday, however met up with her husband today for some saucy love at McDonalds and provided a receipt to acknowledge confirmation.

Reported by Erica A. in El Paso, TX

Thank you Erica for your confirmed sighting, and also congrats on providing the first McRib confirmation of the season!

We also received a few reports of McRibs being available at other locations in Texas today, however have not yet received receipts to confirm these sightings.

If/when you find a McRib, please mark your sighting at McRibLocator.com and be sure to send us a photo (photos@mcriblocator.com) of your receipt showing the purchase so that we may mark it as confirmed.

McRib Necklace Review and Giveaway!

Kim was shopping Etsy and stumbled across a wonderful idea, a pair of McRib earrings! Of course, we contacted the store owner. While we loved many of her items, we started chatting about the McRib.

As Kim hasn’t worn earrings for several years, and I never have had a piercing, we inquired to see if the McRib earrings could be converted to necklaces. The shop owner, Catrina, was happy to do this for us and sent us 2 of the McRib necklaces! Kim has already snagged one, and we will be giving the other away to a lucky McRib Locator fan! Read on to find out how you can win!

About the Necklace
When we first opened the box, we immediately noticed the detailed markings on the top bun. Mmmmmmm. Sesame seed bun. Upon closer inspection, hints of pickles and onions were noticed between the top bun and the McRib patty. Of course, I love my pickles and onions, so would have liked to see a couple more. However I’m sure you may be able to specify this in your order (Catrina’s Toybox does take custom requests!).

The McRib patty has a beautiful saucy color, pressed McRib meat shape, and even a bit of sauce dripping down the bottom bun.

The entire McRib itself is just under a 1/2 inch in length. This is a good size for a necklace, not too large that it is heavy, not so small you can’t tell what it is. The chain is the perfect length for Kim, and she is excited to wear it (she tells me she will wear it everywhere).

All in all, this is a beautiful piece of wearable food art and we are excited to see what other creations Catrina comes up with for her shop.
