After an extensive wait, we have finally released the Android McRib Locator App! This free app is now available in the Google Play Store.
A brief overview:
- Settings: Starting with the feature that might make it easiest to use the application, defining the settings for yourself will save you time when reporting a McRib sighting, or submitting a photo. Enter your name, your email, and the country you will be using the app within, then return to the Main Menu. Once defined, you will not be asked for these fields when they are needed.
- Submit Sighting: Start by selecting if we should try to find the nearest McDonalds Restaurant near you by your GPS, or you may submit the entry by providing the address as you would on the McRib Locator page. You will then be prompted to select the nearest McDonalds to the given address/coordinates.
- Find a McRib: Much like the Submit Sighting option, you will be presented with an option to use your GPS or enter an address manually. After the address is found, the nearest locations with confirmed or unconfirmed sightings are presented. Clicking on the location will launch a mapping program of your choice (or the default mapping program) to provide you with directions to the McDonalds Restaurant. Make sure to double check BEFORE traveling any great distance in case the location has ran out of McRibs.
- Submit Receipt Photo: Already have your sighting reported? Then it is time to submit a photo of the receipt so that we may mark your sighting as confirmed. Take the photo with your phone, then submit the receipt and your Android email service will launch with a generated email for you to send. Review that and send it in. We will review the email and mark your sighting confirmed.
Try it out today Android users and let us know what you think.
If you have any issues, please let us know (contact@mcriblocator.com) and we will take a look into them as best we can. The more details you can provide the better. For example, a message as simple as “does not work on my phone” really doesn’t help us narrow down what the issue might be.
