McRib Moves out of Campbell River, BC

I recently received an email from Dax Corrigall (the super fan that reported the McRib being available in Campbell River, BC), that had some rather unfortunate news. Apparently an hour prior to his latest McDonalds visit at the time, the last McRib was sold. As this is the last confirmed McRib sighting in Canada, I have images in my head of a stagecoach leaving town for the last time as it heads west off into the sunset.

On the flip side, it also reminds me us that the McRib’s return to the US is only a few weeks away.

Have you also had the McRib? Make sure to send us a photo (photos@mcriblocator.com) of your receipt so that your sighting may be promoted to confirmed! Bonus for those that also send a photo of themselves enjoying the McRib. We will share these on the blog.

McRib Still Available In Savannah,GA and Campbell River, BC

While it was but just a month ago that the McRib had again made it’s comeback in Canada and in a small part of Georgia, it has again went into hiding in many places. Two places that the McRib is still holding out in are
Savannah, GA
and
Campbell River, BC.
Thanks to Jim and Dax respectively for sending in their receipts so that we may confirm the McRib’s availability.

Even theMcDonalds Canada Twitter account is excitedly tweeting out the return of the McRib.
Based on email I received during the October 2010-January 2011 US release, I know that there is an avid group of Canadians that are ready to get their hands on this elusive sandwich.

Now the real questions is if you are willing to head out to Canada to get one? Head over to our Facebook wall to vote in the poll.

McRib season ends in Burnsville, MN

My wife has been working pretty hard on a few projects. After completing a grueling evening of work, she announced that she wanted to go to McDonalds. We bundled up (6 degrees out) and we and our two dogs jumped in the car and headed off to the nearest McDonalds. Cautious not to get our hopes up now that McRib season is in extra innings, we saw the always welcome McRib sign in the window at the McDonalds. We pulled up to the drive through to make our order. While not on the menu, we asked if the McRib was available, and were told that it was and our order was set.

Happy that we would be able to enjoy perhaps what would be our last McRib, we went to the first window to pay. The cashier was having a discussion with another employee. After they completed their conversation, the cashier informed us that he had just been told they were OUT of McRibs. We resorted to ordering a Filet-o-Fish.

Thus brings a conclusion to the McRib season here in Burnsville, MN. We will miss the late night runs for McRibs, although look forward to the next time it shall return…whenever that may be.

Viva la McRib

I recently received an email from a McRib fan in Mexico. The email informed me that the McRib was soon to arrive in Mexico, and gave a link to the Mexico McDonalds Site. I took a look, and sure enough, the McRib is going to be there soon (if not already). Watching the video(and if I translated the fine print correctly), it also appears that the McRib will be in Mexico through the start of April! Sounds like I might be getting ready for a trip across the border sometime later this winter.

Thank you for the tip Rodrigo!
