McRib will not be available at all US locations in 2013

Unfortunate news today for McRib fans in some parts of the country. We received an email this morning from a McRib fan that had stumbled onto an Associated Press story announcing that the McRib would be available on a franchise by franchise basis. Apparently the rapid release of new products this year has caused some difficulties for some of the McDonalds locations. We earlier speculated that this may be the reason for late release, and also correctly pinned the limited availability on the new Mighty Wings that are being offered.

Based on where we have had confirmations this far, it may not be a stretch to assume states that have not had it yet are not likely to have it this year. States that have not yet had confirmations:

Connecticut
Delaware
District of Columbia
Massachusetts
Maryland
Maine
Michigan
North Dakota
New Hampshire
New Jersey
New York
Rhode Island
Vermont
West Virginia

The majority of these states are in the Northeastern US, which may indicate a different offering may make it’s way to the menu (McLobster?) or that they are expecting the Mighty Wings to sell better in this region.

Let’s try to help out friends in states where the McRib is not available by providing them with confirmed sightings so that they know where they may have to drive to get their McRib fix! If/when you find a McRib, please mark your sighting at McRibLocator.com and be sure to send us a photo (photos@mcriblocator.com) of your receipt showing the purchase so that we may mark it as confirmed.

I found one near my work in CA, but there’s at least 4 other locations in the area that don’t have them and won’t be serving them this year! I’m happy there’s the one place at least, I’m just wondering why they don’t have them everywhere this time 🙁

Ok, this now makes me REALLY SAD! I live in Boston, MA and I’m going back to Michigan for Thanksgiving. Neither of them have MCRIBS!!! Noooooooooo!!!!

Good thing I’m driving though, I’ll have to stop in Niagara Falls to get mine 🙂

I only eat at the golden arches when the McRib is on the menu in recent years. This decision is just another example of the food tyrants imposing their religion upon us.

I know some who think this a great coup, just remember it’s all fun and games till “they” take your indulgences away – absolute power corrupts absolutely.
