Japan finally has had their wait for the McRib return come to an end! It is being temporarily offered as part of a contest where one of three reoccurring limited time sandwiches will become a regular menu item. They note it has been 7 years since they last had the McRib there, and is currently only the 8th time since 2001, see more about that release here.
The contest requires participants to either scan a QR code on the sandwich to vote, or to send out a tweet indicating they want their sandwich to win. The three sandwiches in the contest are the McRib, Teriyaki Chicken Filet, and a breakfast sandwich Tamago Double Mack. As of this post, the McRib is trailing the other two options.
