After a long void, the McRib appears to be coming back to the Motor City this year! Noting a flurry of unconfirmed McRib reports from Michigan, I reached out to the location at 15855 15 MILE RD in CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI to see what the story was. While they are not officially on sale until the 8th, they told that they are making them RIGHT NOW. She didn’t indicate if all day or just for training for the day, so make sure to call ahead before zipping over!
We were tipped off earlier from Kenny A (thank you!) that the McRib is back for fans in Ukraine. This was tested in a few markets a few years ago, clearly it did well enough to return. Pork apparently was so popular they also introduced a second Pork Sandwich (photos with translation to English from Google below) as part of their Ukraine Burgers promotion.
The Rye Burger looks interesting, let us know in the comments if you would be interested in this new sandwich.
Notice in the photo below that Kenny shared the McRib is in a sleeve in order to keep the sandwich cleaner for consumers.
Unfortunately the promotion is a couple of weeks into McRibs, so likely not much time left for fans in the region.
No word yet on when to expect the McRib back in the United States, however we will be sure to share what we discover.
The 2019 Guatemala McRib is here, and they are not messing around. They are promoting not 1, not 2, but 4 variations of the McRib! The options are the new McRib with Onion Ring and past year options of McRib with Cheese, McRib with Bacon, and classic McRib which we reported on previously here.

As an onion ring fan, this new McRib with onion ring sounds very interesting. Thanks to Jorge C, we have the following photo of an actual sandwich ordered in this configuration. We were told that this tasted “amazingly delcious”.

It has been a few years for Spain, however the McRib has returned to stores in the country!
Note that the bun used is also used for other sandwiches on their menu. The pictures do not highlight the addition of pickles, which leaves us to wonder if these are not included by default on the McRib of Spain.
Also worth noting is that the price this year for the McRib combo is the same as the 2016 price when it includes a single side option. The US variation of the McRib was last offered in Spain in 2013.
Most years when McRib season is over, the disappointment of not having more/any McRibs leaves fans disappointed. Fans resort to various clones on the market, or try to make the McRib themselves. One of the more essential components of the McRib that makes it taste different from the other alike options is the sauce itself. Nick from Tucson, AZ recently let me know that he had secured some authentic McRib sauce. He also pointed me to an eBay posting where a seller in northern Minnesota is currently selling an excess of McRib sauce pouches that they have.
I was about to order some myself, when luck struck. A coworker at my day job produced for me my very own pouch of McRib sauce. My coworker has a connection inside a store in the area that indicated they received a large shipment of space AFTER the season had ended. Lucky for me, I now have one of the more tricky components of the McRib to come by!
Hunt for the most alike BBQ sauce
Now that we have a little sauce to work with, we can look for an alike option at the store. Especially helpful from the posted sale is that the boxes contain what ingredients are included in this tangy sauce, which should help to focus on types of sauce that are potential matches. Granted, the vague “spices” ingredient isn’t going to let us filter the list too quickly.

Perhaps it is finally time for McDonalds to bring some of their sauces to stores for consumers as well. There are a number of other restaurants offering items in stores today, so they wouldn’t be the first to explore this. Would you buy McRib sauce if it was offered at stores?

It appears that after a 6 year hiatus, the McRib will be returning to Maccas (McDonalds first embraced this Australian nickname in 2013) in Australia. Currently their Facebook page is hinting “something saucy is coming” on December 5th.
Macca hints at the return of the McRib
Late last week they let is slip that it would in fact be the McRib returning.
Fellow McRib fan Richard W. captured the earlier announcement.
This follows an early market test in July 2018, which the McRib sales, to little surprise, must have shown that there was enough interest to bring it back on a larger scale. The last full blown release of the McRib in Australia was 6 years ago. The release 6 years ago was part of an event to align with the Olympics being held there. A few different variations from around the globe were offered, such as the Atlanta Pork McRib.
Will there be special promotional pricing? Will they make a clever video to emphasize the return of this fan favorite? As the 5th arrives we will update this post with additional details as we are able to find them.

The McDonalds Australia page now features the McRib alongside what appear to be BBQ Fries.
