Is the McRib sandwich a different size this year?

While the topic of a modified McRib has come up already this year, we are noticing a trend within the photos we are receiving that may indicate a change with the McRib.

This year the pork patty appears to reach end-to-end lengthwise within the box. Does this mean the sandwich is larger, the box is smaller, or that we have never pod attention to this detail as the McRib only was in the box for a small moment before we could sit down to eat it? We like to think that it might be a bit larger to reward fans that are lucky enough to find the McRib.

Have you had a McRib this year, and if so, did it seem larger than previous years?

Make sure to keep reporting your McRib sightings at http://mcriblocator.com and emailing your McRib receipt photos to photos@mcriblocator.com Thank you!

McBiscrib?

Each year we hear of interesting McRib creations using other items on the McDonalds menu. This year, with all day breakfast, it was only a matter of time before someone created a mashup of McDonalds breakfast and the McRib.

We received an email from Andrew McDonald with his combination, two Biscuits and a McRib.

How does one order this unique sandwich?

What did everyone at this Pineville McDonalds think of this creation? “They thought it was wild, I thought it was delicious!!!” Andrew told us.

What do you think? Would you order the McRib this way? What breakfast/McRib combination do you think would taste good?

With all day breakfast there are many new combinations that before would have been very difficult to get. If you decide to try a new creation, please share images of your creation and we will be sure to share it!

When will the McRib be….

We have been fielding a high number of requests asking “When will the McRib be at” some location. Here is the latest we know. As some of the locations that received the McRib early are now seeing it fall from their menus, there are others that have just started seeing the McRib arrive. The most recent sightings were in Texas, Louisiana, and Puerto Rico. Our original intelligence report indicates a more widespread return in November. This intelligence has not yet produced what exact time nor exact location it will return.

In the interim, we suggest checking http://mcriblocator.com (including our blog) for the latest information, and suggest utilizing the Find feature to find the nearest potential McRib availability to you!

This is where you come in. If you happen to find the McRib, please report it at http://mcriblocator.com and then if possible take a photo of your receipt showing the McRib purchase and email that to photos@mcriblocator.com so that your sighting can be updated to confirmed. With your help we can get the McRib into the hands of as many fans as possible. Thank you!

The Legend Returns

The McRib has again returned to another part of the globe. If you are Guatemala, rejoice as the McRib is now back on your menu too!

Rather than a new take on the ever popular sandwich, the McRib here appears to be the same offering as in the United States.

Thank you for the report Daniel!
If you find a McRib make sure to report it http://mcriblocator.com/report.html and send us a photo of your receipt (showing location and date purchased as well as your McRib order) to photos@mcriblocator.com . Thank you!

Is there something different with the McRib this year?

Long time fan Evan recently sent us a photo of a McRib advertisement for the McRib at a McDonalds in Williamsport, PA.

At first, my eyes were drawn to the sandwich, then quickly to noting the always spectacular buy a 2nd McRib for only $1 offer. Of course, I then noticed the slogan for this season “We’re bringing saucy back.” and can’t get the referenced song out of my head (dang you Justin Timberlake!).

Then it dawned on me something was different. Can you spot it? This isn’t the first time we have encountered this, however it has been a long time since we have (roughly 5 years to be more precise). Here is a photo from back then where you can see the same difference:

Still can’t see it? Here it is, the bun shown in the photo is not the typical McRib bun. Instead the photo shows a ciabatta bun being used. While I don’t recall this being bad, I still prefer the standard bun. Not to worry, Evan indicated that the bun offered was not what was pictured but actually the standard bun.

So what do you think? Time for change, or leave it be? Vote below.
